The official launch of the Calgary Hip Hop & Streetdance Festival! This evening celebrates dance on screen, featuring a curated selection of short dance films by incredible local and international artists. It's a relaxed, high-vibe night to connect with the community, meet the guest artists, and set the stage for the intense weekend ahead.

BATTLE PRELIMS

The heat is on! This is the qualification day where competitors across all categories battle it out to earn a coveted Top 4 spot in the Finals. The energy is raw and focused.

Simultaneously, outside, our FREE ICE CYPHER offers a community space for jamming, warming up and cultural exchange, featuring live DJs and other performers. 2025’s Ice Cypher was sponsored by the Crescent Heights BIA.

FINALS & SHOWCASE

The climax of the festival! Join us in 2026 to witness the ultimate showdown as the Top 4 dancers battle for the title in every category.

Beyond the competition, the day features a packed program, including the high-stakes High School Hip Hop Battle Final, world-class showcases and the highly anticipated premiere of the works created by our Artists in Residency.

WORKSHOPS & FREE PANEL DISCUSSION W/ GUEST JUDGES

The final day is dedicated entirely to growth and education. Train with legends from the global street dance scene, including pioneers like Suga Pop and experts like Raoul Wilke, in a series of intensive masterclasses.

The day also features a FREE Panel Discussion where all festival guests and judges share insights on the culture, history and future of street dance.
