FILM SCREENING & KICKOFF PARTY

The official launch of the Calgary Hip Hop & Streetdance Festival! We celebrated dance on screen, featuring a curated selection of short dance films by incredible local and international artists. It was a relaxed, high-vibe night to connect with the community, meet the guest artists and set the stage for the intense weekend ahead.

BATTLE PRELIMS

This was the qualification day, where competitors across all categories battled it out to earn a coveted spot in the Top 4 of the Finals. The energy was raw and focused.

Simultaneously, outside, ICE CYPHER offered a community space for jamming, warming up and cypher exchanges, featuring live DJs and other performers. 2025’s Ice Cypher was sponsored by the Crescent Heights BIA.

FINALS & SHOWCASE

This was the climax of the festival! We witnessed the ultimate showdown as the Top 4 dancers battled for the title in every category.

Beyond the competition, the day featured a packed program, including the high-stakes High School Hip Hop Battle Final, world-class showcases and the highly anticipated premiere of the works created by our Artists in Residency.

WORKSHOPS & FREE PANEL DISCUSSION W/ GUEST JUDGES

The final day was dedicated entirely to growth and education. We trained with legends from the global street dance scene, including pioneers like Suga Pop and experts like Raoul Wilke, in a series of intensive masterclasses.

The day also featured a FREE Panel Discussion where all festival judges shared insights on the culture, history and the future of street dance.
